The Barge
Charlemont Street, by the canal.

Was completely rebuilt a few years ago. Has three floors and lots of nooks and crannies. Serves late (2am) at weekends and has a noisy DJ to add to the ambience. Gets a predominately young crowd. Well know for its outside promo displays at festive times produced by drinks companies.

  RATING COMMENTS
Buzz Lively place all right. Plenty of woman and men looking to meet, talk and snog. Slightly unusual in that many people stand on the first floor. That's where the room is.
Decor An interesting layout for a pub with lots of stairs, corners, brick walls and wood.
Scoring Seems to be a bit of pick up place or at least that is what most of the men think and hope Not sure how the women feel.
Babes + Hunks Mixed lot. Not my cup of tea, I'd have to say. All wearing the latest fashions. Whether it suits them is another matter. Fairly attractive though.
Beer Standards Very mixed. First floor is awful - beer travelling up long pipes is not a good idea. Ground floor is not too bad.
And the toilets? Small and clean but they smell beautiful. Really. The nicest smelling toilets I have ever been in. Well done.
Overall A good spot for a bit of action. Inclined to get too packed and certain parts can get very warm and sweaty, especially in the summer.
