Brazen Head
Lower Bridge Street on the south of the city. Keep going up the quays past the big glass Dublin Corporation offices, past the Four Courts across the river and there near the bridge (Bridge Street) is the Brazen Head.

Now, I know I included this in the Temple Bar area and it is a bit far from there but it has to be included in any guide to Dublin pubs. This pub goes back quite a few years and is another good example of a top pub for both locals and visitors. Music too plays a part with sessions on Saturday nights getting the blood flowing.

  RATING COMMENTS
Buzz Four Despite it being a bot out of the way, the Brazen gets fairly busy especially at weekends during the summer. Has an open courtyard at the front which can be a great spot during fine weather.
Decor two Nothing special, the usual wood stuff. There are three bars which give you a chance to move around though not too easily when its busy.
Scoring three Not to be ruled out especially among visitors looking for a bit of romance after a few beers and some music.
Babes + Hunks three Mixed. Young, old and middle aged.
Beer Standards five Pretty good. One of the best pubs in Dublin city for decent beer.
And the toilets? two Quite small and usually a queue when its busy. Women have it even worse.
Overall four One of Dublin's great pubs. Even though it's a tourist hotspot, it still retains enough character to give you a good time.
