International
Bar
Corner
of St. Andrew Street and Exchequer Street across from the Old Stand.
Another old
Dublin institution. Many Irish musicians and comedians started their careers
here (don't ask me who though). Small, but has three levels. Upstairs
is where there is regular music and comedy sessions. Music revolves around
bands, drums and guitars. Comedy varies. Downstairs is quiet and cosy.
I used to spend Friday evenings in here after working with Hot Press,
Ireland's answer to Rolling Stone.

Hard
to classify this place. Not lively in the expected sense, but has
it's own quiet, confident atmosphere. |
Decor |

Wood,
but man it's old. Though downstairs is a bit too old. And look at
the ceiling. |

Not
really that sort of place but...and it's a big but. There may be opportunities
at the music/comedy gigs. |

Studenty,
grungy people, rockers, music heads are common. The women generally
fit into this. |

One
of the few places where your are guaranteed a very good pint. |
And
the toilets? |
|
Small
and pokey but it suits the pub. |

A
good place for a different sort of night out or even a daring date
(now there's a challenge). |
