Kehoe's
South Anne Street, off Grafton Street.

Was sold recently for £2.3 million which is a hell of a lot for any pub. On first look you'd wonder why on earth the new owners spent that much. Like McDaid's and O'Donoghue's, Kehoe's is an old style Dublin pub. Has a mixed, studenty and trendy type crowd. It has a terrific little snug facing the bar which can hold up to six people. I remember spending a Paddy's Day in there getting plastered and talking complete rubbish. A memorable day indeed.

  RATING COMMENTS
Buzz Small, narrow and not much room. Who cares. Kehoe's has "it". That indefinable feel of a good pub. Great atmosphere at any time even when it's quiet.
Decor Now this is old. Lots of wood, but it's been around. Can be a bit narrow around the bar. Go up the stairs and look at that wallpaper. You won't see that stuff in Habitat.
Scoring Forget it. Just enjoy the beer and ambience.
Babes + Hunks Young studenty types. You don't really dress up to come here. That's what the Bailey's for.
Beer Standards Pretty good. One of the best pints in central Dublin which is an achievement.
And the toilets? Being an old pub you have old toilets.
Overall Just a bloody good pub.
