O'Donoghue's
Merrion Row, just off St.Stephen's Green, on the way to Baggot
Street
Now this
is an old Irish pub. Small and narrow, O'Donoghue's is famous the world
over. Popular with both tourists and locals, this could be called a typical
Irish pub. A spit-on-the-floor type place. This is the pub where the Dubliners
folk group first started many years ago. And you'll still get the odd
musical session going on. They've recently added a back bar which is nice
and pleasant and totally different from the main bar.

Nearly
always busy. If it's not tourists, it's the office crowd. Fills up
very quickly and don't expect to be sitting down. A bit of music from
a session in the corner should be available. |

Definitely
authentic. This place is an original unlike many of the more modern
'Irish' pub. Has a fine collection of currency notes from practically
every country in the world. |

One
of the best pints in the city. |
And
the toilets? |
|
One
of the worst in the city. BUT. Their new back bar has very nice NEW
toilets upstairs. |

A
unique example of an old Irish pub. A Dublin institution. Go there
and enjoy it. |
