Zanzibar
Ormond Quay, just up from the Halfpenny Bridge on the north
side of the city.
Opened in
the summer 1998 and is supposed to have cost over a million Irish pounds
to build. And it shows. The theme is African/Middle Eastern and thankfully
there's not too much wood. Lots of marble effect, big paintings and drapes.
A huge place with a very high ceiling, it can hold around 1,500 people.
A most impressive pub. And as for the women...hey, hey, party on.

Packed
on weekends. Get there before 8pm or you may have to queue outside,
but you should get in to this oasis of cool soon enough. An experience |

At
last, away from wood. Like a palace in Northern Africa around 60 years
ago. Bit before our time, but think of the English Patient for 90's
Dublin. |

One
of the best places in Dublin to look at a lot of very good looking
women. yes, it is that good. 20 something's dominate. |

Not
bad considering it's an O'Dwyer Bros effort and certainly makes a
mess of Andy's Theories. |
And
the toilets? |
|
When
it's busy, they can be a bit difficult to get to, though you do have
to squeeze past lots of women so maybe it's worth it. |

One
hell of a hot spot. Buzz, babes and beer. Zanzibar has the lot. Don't
miss it. Beware though, the bouncers on the door like to show who's
the boss. |
